Ripley #1 - Original Collagraph of German Sheped Mix

I had so much fun creating this collagraph. His name
is Ripley and I finally finished this commission late last year.
Ripley is included in a show of my collagraphs that are
hanging at the Farm Table in O'Fallon through February 17.

Cheeto #1 - Original Collagraph - Pit Bull Mix

Recently I was asked to create a portrait of a stray rescue animal for the upcoming Urban Wanderers art show & auction.  I asked if it would be okay to do a portrait of Cheeto, a stray rescue dog who was adopted by some good friends of mine a couple of years ago. I did several variations of this character, but this version seems to be the favorite.

Ben #3 - Mixed Media

This is the second of three dog pieces I have been working on.  This happens to be the third of three versions of this piece. In the first print of this series I started by gluing tissue paper to lay out some of the areas of color and then I created a separate plate to print the dog and some of the other textures. In this case I did not start with tissue paper, but printed color on the dog and background first. The next step was to print the textured B&W plate. Following this step I started layering texture and color in the border. I created a fourth plate to print additional texture on the dog.  The final step was to add tissue paper which defined the fabric. This keeps changing so it could change again.  The blue seems a little too bold.  I am tired of looking at it so here it is for now.  I need to move on for a while.
My sister just might recognize this guy.

This is one of two commissions I recently completed for a client.  The two pieces were going to be a surprise for her husband.  I was told that he was very moved when he saw the collagraph versions of their buddies.  I just love the paws.

Truman the Morkie (Original Collograph of Designer Dog)

A friend of a friend asked me to do a collagraph portrait of their Morkie (combination of a Maltese and a Yorkshire Terrier). I haven't done a lot of work with dogs with longer hair so I wasn't sure how it would come out. Anyway these are two versions I came up with. The image size is 7.25" x 9.5". The paper size is 9.5" x 11.5".
