Out for a Stroll #13 - Collagraph of Wild Turkeys

I recently received a surprise in the mail.  The Art League of Hilton Head sent me a letter informing me that this collagraph received First Place in the "All Other" category (which basically includes printmaking and drawing) in their 2013 Biennale, a national juried exhibition.  The bonus was the nice check that was enclosed.  Believe me this doesn't happen very often.

Here's the hand-colored version. I think I prefer the black and white version better. It is amazing how colorful these birds can be.

The image size of this hand-pulled print is 17" x 23", the paper size is 19.5" x 25".

Out for a Stroll #1 (Collagraph of Two Wild Turkeys)

Well I've had a lot going on lately, but I finally finished one of these turkey collagraphs. Better late than never. I have a couple of other versions in the works. One has a slightly different background and am attempting to add color to another one.
