Pelican on Blue #1 (Collagraph of Large Waterbird)

Everyone seems to love pelicans. I love to watch them fish during my visits to Florida. This is my first attempt at adding color to the black and white pelican posted a while back. I took a little liberty here just to make it a little more interesting.

The image size of this original, hand-pulled collagraph of a pelican on a blue background measures 4.5" x 6.5" (11.4 cm x 16.5 cm)
Paper Size: 6.5" x 8" (16.5 cm x 20.3cm)
Printed on Arches Cover White Paper

Rose-Breasted Grosbeak (Collagraph of Male Songbird)

We used to have a pair of grosbeaks that came through every Spring. Unfortunately we haven't seen them in a couple of years. This is the latest addition to my bird collagraphs. I will probably do a version with a colored background in the near future so check back soon.

The image size of this original hand-pulled, textured collograph of a male rose-breasted grosbeak measures 7.25" x 9.5" (18.4 cm x 24.1 cm).

Paper Size: 9.5" x 11.5" (24.1 cm x 29.2 cm)
Varied Edition
Printed on Arches cover white paper

On Edge (Collagraph of Brown Pelican)

I came up with this guy in response to a print exchange request. The guidelines are to print a limited edition of 14 prints on 5" x 7" paper. The intent is for us to use up scraps of paper . . . which I have an abundance of. One print will be in a traveling show, another will be sold (hopefully) and the remaining 12 will be distributed to other printmakers participating in the exchange. The show of prints will be traveling to New Zealand in March. I will probably work on a color version of this to come some time in the future. For any printmakers interested in participating here's a link for more information.

Out for a Stroll #2 (Hand-Colored Collagraph of Wild Turkeys)

Here's the hand-colored version. I think I prefer the black and white version better. It is amazing how colorful these birds can be.

The image size of this hand-pulled print is 17" x 23", the paper size is 19.5" x 25".

Please note: to see a larger version of this guy just click on the image.
